The feasts of All Saints and All Souls (November 1-2) have come and gone this year, but the entire month of November is dedicated to remembering those who have died.
It is a particularly appropriate time to visit the gravesites of your loved ones. In keeping with our Catholic faith, we practice a spiritual work of mercy every time we pray for a soul in purgatory – with joyful expectation that they will one day be in heaven. At the same time, we rejoice with those who are already there! Masses can be offered for the repose of the souls of the deceased. Many people have family gatherings, in which they share stories, photos, and memories of the faithful departed.
Catholic Cemeteries joins with you in prayer throughout the month November. Our peaceful grounds provide a comforting and sacred space for prayer, and they serve as a bridge with the communion of saints. We encourage every connection for remembrance.
As a special incentive, we have partnered with Wreaths Across America to have wreaths placed at the graves of deceased service members in December. Together, we can make this a prayer-filled November and a holy time leading into the Advent season, as we Await the Blessed Hope!
