Preparation and Honor

preparation-and-honor

As we journey further into the Advent season, our Sunday scriptures continue to speak to our hearts, preparing us not only for the joyous celebration of Christ’s birth, but also for his Second Coming. We at Catholic Cemeteries join with you in prayer, as we prepare to hear these words from the second reading at midnight Mass on Christmas, “Live temperately, justly, and devoutly in this age, as we await the blessed hope, the appearance of the glory of our great God and savior Jesus Christ,” (Titus 2:11-14).

Our Catholic Cemeteries will be even brighter and more beautiful this Christmas Season thanks to Wreaths Across America, an organization that has partnered with us to have holiday wreaths placed at the graves of deceased service members this month.

Wreaths Across America’s mission is to honor and remember the deceased, who have served our country in the armed services, so that we might enjoy the freedoms we cherish. On December 17, Wreaths Across America will coordinate a wreath laying ceremony at Resurrection Cemetery, as well as more than 3,400 additional locations in all 50 U.S. states, at sea, and abroad. We are pleased to partner with this respected organization! We invite you to visit and see the wreaths, and pray for those who have served in our armed services.
