Easter Sunday

easter-sunday

“I have risen, and am with you still.” (C.f. Ps 139: 18)

Christ is risen, he is risen indeed! Today Christ shows himself as the conqueror of sin and death as he leaves his borrowed tomb in his glorified body. Today, we rejoice in Christ, the first fruit of the Resurrection, and his promise that we too shall one day be raised body and soul into the fullness of everlasting life.

Take a moment to reflect on the joy of the Resurrection and the promise of everlasting life with the Holy Trinity offered to us through Jesus Christ.

As we continue our earthly pilgrimage, let us follow the example of Jesus in accepting all that the Father gives us while making a gift of ourselves. Christ gives us the sacraments as the ordinary means to accept God’s grace and mercy to allow us to face and overcome sin and death. Let us avail ourselves of these sacred gifts so that at the end of our earthly life we can say, “I have competed well; I have finished the race; I have kept the faith,” (2 Timothy 4:7).

May this Easter Season be a blessed time of hope and joy for you and your loved ones!

When our sins cause us to sorrow, we will be comforted by remembering and accepting God’s love.
